Rami Al Karmi - Country Strategic Advisor

Rami is a serial entrepreneur having founded his first business at 19 years old, he was selected as one of 13 Jordanian delegates to attend the US Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship in Washington DC on April 2010.

Rami is an Electrical Engineer with over 13 years of experience in executive management, and strategic alignment of formulated visions with effective use of digital means and technology applications. He is the chairman of evolve plus a boutique strategy firm he founded in 2009 to support next generation ventures that have a regional footprint and global reach. After serving in an Advisory capacity reporting to H.E. the Minister of Health, Country Manager, and Managing Director, and Chief Technology Officer at a number of prominent technology based ventures, leaving an evident foot print across each of them, like for example the knowledge server he built back in 1998 which since then has been the engine behind the famous Arabic news portal aljazeera.net and was the first live TV online streaming implementation in the Arabic region. In addition to his efforts with entrepreneurial ventures, he currently serves as member of the board of trustees of Elia Nuqul Foundation, and a member of the educational board of directors at Al Raed Al Arabi School.
Rami is also a pioneer in applying for-profit business models in non-for-profit NGOs and social enterprises, his work as CEO of SHABAKAT Al Ordon - which is a Jordanian non-for-profit launched by His Majesty King Abdullah II in year 2002 that merged in 2010 with the Brazilian-Headquartered NGO CDI (change through digital inclusion) to form a global digital inclusion program through what is believed to be the first non-for-profit take-over exit in history, where post-merger SHABAKAT becomes CDI Arabic Region – is now a case study taught to Civil Society Organizations in the MEPI funded MEET US CSO Exec Program at UCSD’s Rady School of Business.
